MACLEAN’S COLLEGE

The Macleans College transactions is an excellent representation of the Hāpai model. Working in partnership Ngāi Tai ki Tamaki, Hāpai enabled the acquisition of the Macleans College land – which formed a core component in the Ngāi Tai ki Tamaki Treaty Settlement. Collectively, both parties have purchase the land an dentered into a long term lease back to the Ministry of Education.

The land area is approximately 12 hectares, and is located in the very desirable area of Bucklands Beach in Auckland.

By working in partnership with Hāpai, Ngāi Tai ki Tāmaki has leveraged our collective iwi investment model to establish a strategic focus on increasing its focus on property investment with the purchase is the most expensive school grounds the Crown has ever sold. Ngāi Tai ki Tamaki and Hāpai have continued to work closely together through the Hāpai Development investment in Beachlands, and the partnership is an excellent example of iwi collaboration.
